Road Construction Begins

The reconstruction of Dean Lung Road from Route 29 to Mechanic Street has begun. During this project, we will be closing the road to traffic between the hours of 7 AM – 3 PM, this will allow us to make the job safer and get more accomplished during the day. School bus traffic and people that reside on this road as well as emergency vehicles will be allowed through but we ask all other traffic to use an alternate route. In addition to this construction the department will be working on grading and rolling the gravel roads throughout town. 

May 2, 2018

On Wednesday, May 2nd we brought in a milling machine from Peckham which allowed us to grind up the old blacktop while mixing in gravel to lay down a base for the new road. This along with other preparations will be leading up to the paving of Dean Lung on May 15th. Once the road has been paved the crew will come back with shoulder stone to install the shoulders and fill in the driveways so they tie back into the pavement.
